SUMMARY:Intro to Domestic Abuse
DESCRIPTION:What will it cover?\nThis course offers a sensitive and practical introduction to domestic abuse\, helping participants build awareness of the different forms abuse can take—including physical\, emotional\, psychological\, financial\, and coercive control. Through real-world case studies and discussion\, attendees will explore how domestic abuse affects individuals and families\, and how adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and consent intersect with the topic. \nParticipants will gain confidence in recognising signs of abuse\, understanding risk\, and responding in a safe and trauma-informed way. The session includes guided practice using the DASH risk assessment tool and introduces key elements of safety planning. Finally\, attendees will be supported to understand their role in signposting and supporting those affected by domestic abuse. \nThis training aims to: \n\nUnderstand the different types of domestic abuse and their impact\nExplore real case studies to develop contextual understanding\nRecognise how ACEs and issues of consent relate to domestic abuse\nDevelop confidence using the DASH risk assessment tool\nLearn how to contribute to effective safety planning\nIncrease awareness of services available and how to signpost appropriately\nImprove confidence in responding sensitively and safely to disclosures of abuse\n\n\n£20.00 \n\nWhen is it?\n\nWednesday 28th October from 11:30am – 12:30pm (online via MS Teams)\n\nFor more information regarding delivering this training externally to a group\, please contact us using the details provided below.
