SUMMARY:Men’s Mental Health
DESCRIPTION:What will it cover?\nThis workshop explores men’s mental health through the lens of stigma\, identity\, and vulnerability. It creates a safe and supportive space to reflect on how societal expectations\, language\, and traditional ideas of masculinity can influence emotional wellbeing and help-seeking. \nMen’s mental health is often critically impacted by stigma and cultural norms that equate masculinity with strength\, self-reliance\, and emotional silence. As a result\, many men experience anxiety\, depression\, or stress while feeling unable to speak openly about it. This session invites participants to reflect on what it means to be a man in today’s world\, and how vulnerability\, strength\, and identity can coexist. \nThe training aims to: \nThe workshop aims to build participants’ confidence in engaging in meaningful conversations about mental health — both their own and others’. Through discussion\, reflection\, and practical skill-building\, attendees will develop tools to manage their wellbeing\, recognise when support may be needed\, and feel more empowered to foster a culture of openness and empathy in their families\, workplaces\, and communities. \nBy the end of the session\, participants will: \n\nExplore what is meant by men’s mental health and how gendered expectations can shape emotional wellbeing\nIncrease understanding of stigma\, language\, and cultural barriers that may prevent men from speaking openly\nGain an overview of common mental health issues\, including prevalence\, signs\, symptoms\, and impact\nReflect on identity\, masculinity\, and vulnerability — and how these concepts can coexist in healthy ways\nBuild confidence in recognising when support may be needed and knowing how and where to seek help\nDevelop and practise listening skills and supportive conversation techniques (including asking\, listening\, and responding)\nLearn practical tools and sustainable strategies to manage stress and support personal wellbeing\nFeel more confident supporting other men and role modelling healthy behaviours\n\n£0.00 \n\nWhen is it?\n\nFriday 13th November from 10:00am – 12:00pm (online via MS Teams)\n\nFor more information regarding delivering this training externally to a group\, please contact us using the details provided below.
