Are they getting enough sleep?

Disrupted sleep can affect our deep sleep and REM (Dream) sleep cycles.

  • Deep sleep is where our body physically heals
  • Dream sleep is where our emotions from the previous day are discharged and processed

Without effective dream sleep, we carry over our unprocessed emotions into the following day.

Research has found that people with disrupted sleep patterns are more likely to engage in impulsive behaviour and experience thoughts of self-harm and suicide.
