FAQs

The Mental Health Training Academy website showcases the training courses offered Face to Face or Virtually (via Zoom) by Mind in West Essex. There are also a number of interactive e-Learning courses which you can complete at your own pace.

Mind in West Essex is an independent local charity (#1091154) which supports people affected by mental ill health, so they can make positive changes in their lives and improve their emotional resilience.

We also aim to normalise the conversation around mental health and in doing so reduce the stigma that can be a barrier to people accessing the support that could help them to improve their quality of life.

We work in West Essex covering the areas of Uttlesford, Harlow, and Epping Forest. We also affiliate to the national charity Mind; this means that we are part of a network of 140 other local Mind charities.

Yes. Anyone can register and access our e-learning courses, no matter where they are in the world.

Some of the content, however, may be specific to Essex when we are signposting to services etc.

Once you’ve purchased the relevant course, head to the “My Courses” page and click the name of the course to begin.

Our courses are divided into lessons to help break the content up into manageable chunks. Within each lesson you’ll find topics to help break the content down further.

To get started, click on the first lesson and then, once you’ve read the introductory text, click on the first topic. Click the “Mark Complete” button at the bottom of each page to progress through the course.

No. You can take your time and complete courses at different times, if you prefer. As you move through the course the system remembers your progress so you can pick up where you left off.

To continue a course you’ve already started, head to the “My Courses” page and click on the course title.

Absolutely! You can revisit e-Learning courses at any point – this may be particularly useful for the resources sections, as we will update these from time-to-time with new information.

Please note that your account may be deleted if you do not log in for more than 1 year.

If a course shows less than 100% completion, or “in progress” when you are certain you’ve completed the course, it may be that you did not press the “mark complete” button on a section.

To find the section that is outstanding, go to the course start page and scroll down to see the course contents. Check that each of the lessons have a green tick to the left of the title. If they don’t, click the lesson title and scroll down to mark it as complete.

If all of the lessons have a green tick, click on the pink “expand” button to the right of the lesson title and check all the topics have a green tick to the left of the title. If they don’t, click the topic title and scroll down to mark it as complete.

Continue these steps until all sections have a green tick. If the course still does not show 100% completion, you may need to complete a quiz.
